First isolated from human plasma in the 1970s, GHK is a naturally occurring tripeptide — glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine — with a high affinity for copper(II), and what DNA-LABS supplies is the preformed GHK–Cu complex rather than the free peptide. That complex is also why the powder and its reconstituted solution are deep blue: the colour confirms at a glance that the copper is coordinated and that the material has gone into solution. In the literature it turns up mainly in dermatological and extracellular-matrix research: collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis, wound-model work, copper-transport studies and cosmetic-ingredient assays. Each 50 mg vial is lyophilised and sealed, supplied at 99% purity against a lot-specific certificate of analysis. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, store at 2–8°C away from light, and keep the solution clear of strongly alkaline buffers and of chelators such as EDTA, which compete for the copper — for laboratory research use only, not for human or animal consumption.
